While it may not be right in your backyard, it’s still a worthy (and free!) event that will be raising awareness of the exploration of the elderly.

Below the free event, held on Wed., 5/30, I’ve provided the details for the 5th Annual Gerontology Conference, which is on Thursday, 5/31.

TRAILER:

This free-admission event will be open to the public to raise awareness of financial exploitation of our elderly.  The statistics are staggering. Financial abuse robbed elder Americans of an estimated $2.9 billion last year, up 12 percent from 2008.”*

Elder abuse robs our families and our community!  This newly released documentary, “Last Will and Embezzlement”, was inspired by true-life events in the family of producer Pamela S.K Glasner.  It stars Hollywood icon Mickey Rooney who was a victim of abuse.  It is our hope that this documentary will shine a light on the pervasive problem of financial exploitation, and will help those who have potentially-vulnerable adults in their lives to be on the look-out for signs of victimization.  Those who attend this film event will be educated, challenged and inspired to action.
