Memory Care is a specific level of assistance which supports seniors with memory related disorders. These communities provide a safe environment, where staff closely monitors the day-to-day of seniors and helps them live a fulfilling life.
In a Memory Care community, a resident’s day is guided from beginning to end with research-based activities that engage, fulfill, and give the residents a purpose driven life. Memory Care communities are secured, yet allow residents to freely and safely walk about in open spaces. Stations are sometimes set up with objects or pictures to help trigger memories. There are quiet areas with sensory features in place that offer a place of solace for residents who may be experiencing agitation.
- Research-based activity calendar specific to those with dementia
- Secure, homelike, and comforting environment
- Transitional care available for residents’ changing needs
- Purposeful features in the environment that support dementia diagnosis
